London Book Fair goes American Idol

Lit Idol, a contest organized by the London Book Fair, is designed “to uncover untapped talent in the world of fiction writing.” The winner will be represented by Curtis Brown agent Ali Gunn. Gunn’s stable of authors includes “commercial women’s fiction” (read: “chick lit”) writers Jenny Colgan and Cathy Kelly, and Princess Diana’s former butler. In the words of TMFTML, “And they say that literature is dying. What a world.”
