Live! Nude! Words!

The Merriam Webster site now has a “real-time word” feature — a “live, random sampling of words looked up in the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, displayed exactly as they are entered by thousands of visitors.” Oh, the excitement. (Via Heaneyland).

This reminds me — I read somewhere that there’s a giant screen displaying real-time search requests in the Google offices. Some days, the thought of that screen is the only thing that stops me from obsessively googling my own name: “Stephany Aulenback” “Stephany Aulenback” “Stephany Aulenback” “Stephany Aulenback.” Other days, nothing can stop me.
