Private: It’s the drinking and the deep inner turmoil

This morning on NPR’s Morning Edition, Bob Edwards mentioned the results of a study that suggests poets are younger when they die than novelists, playwrights and other writers. Of the 1,987 dead writers considered, the researcher reportedly said, “‘On average, poets lived 62 years, playwrights 63 years, novelists 66 years and non-fiction writers lived 68 years.'”
