Writer Evelyn Waugh’s loathing for Hollywood and the films it produced is captured, the Guardian reports, in memoranda Waugh sent “to the ‘Californian savages’ during negotiations over film versions of Brideshead Revisited and Scoop.” Some of the memoranda are reproduced at the Guardian site.
