Just in time for the new year, here’s a list of sexy Catholic calendars and their attendant controversies:
And here’s some naughty nuns. And I mean “naughty” in the most gentlest, godly sense of the word, of course.
I know what you’re thinking: every year seems to bring yet another Catholic calendar controversy, doesn’t it?
Back in 2003, photographer Alberto Magliozzi photographed twelve “Madonnas” of his own unique interpretation. (Worksafe? If you don’t think your boss will fire you for checking out buxom nude women with the stigmata on your work comp, then go for it.)
And then there was that one in 2001, when an Irish priest was photographed, “wearing only a clerical collar with an open book covering his modesty”, for the charitable “Bare Shakers 2001” calendar. Unfortunately, all negatives were destroyed, at the request of the Bishop of Galway. Note that the title of the modesty-covering tome was not noted. Guesses may be sent to annie at maudnewton dot com. Winning prizes for correct guesses may be collected in the top nightstand drawers of any motel in America.
