Cache of letters from top tier of Canadian writers discovered

When a Canadian realtor put the late Marian Engel’s house on the market, she discovered, in the upstairs bedroom, papers strewn around the floor and shoved into garbage bags. Among these papers were letters from the “top tier of Canadian writers”:

Robertson Davies, Alice Munro, Margaret Atwood, Timothy Findley, Jane Rule, Rudy Wiebe, Dorothy Livesey, June Callwood, John Metcalf and Engel’s former McGill University professor, Hugh MacLennan, among others.
