Best online fiction award

Jason Sanford, editor of storySouth, has announced a “new best online fiction award” called “the Million Writers Award,” and is soliciting your nominations. The purpose of the contest is “to honor and promote the best fiction published in online literary journals and magazines during 2003.”

Editors of qualifying publications may nominate three stories; readers may nominate one.

No stories shorter than 1000 words will be considered, and stories originally published in storySouth are ineligible.

The deadline for nominations is February 5, 2004. From these, the editors of storySouth will select ten finalists. Public voting on the finalists commences Feb. 15, 2004, and ends March 15, 2004.
