2004 Man Booker Prize goes to Hollinghurst

Guardian photo of HollinghurstProving once again that the bookies and the pundits never get it right, the Man Booker Prize judges have awarded the 2004 prize to Alan Hollinghurst’s The Line of Beauty, a satire of Britain’s 1980s Tory government, over the suspected favorite: David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas.
